Michael and David
Michael McKean (Leonard "Lenny" Kosnowski)
Michael McKean began acting in the late 1960s as a student at the Carnegie Mellon Institute. In 1970, he helped found the Los Angeles comedy troupe The Credibility Gap. In 1975, McKean and fellow troupe members David L. Lander and Harry Shearer became writers for the new comedy show "Laverne & Shirley." After Penny Marshall asked McKean and Lander to appear on an episode, their characters Lenny and Squiggy became regulars. McKean has since starred in dozens of feature films, including "This Is Spinal Tap," "Waiting for Guffman," "Best in Show" and "Clue."
David L. Lander (Andrew "Squiggy" Squiggman)
David L. Lander started out as a voice-over artist but joined the comedy troupe The Credibility Gap in the early 1970s. In 1975, he, Harry Shearer and Michael McKean became writers for "Laverne & Shirley," but soon Lander and McKean were appearing on the show as the girls' greaser neighbors, Lenny and Squiggy. Lander has since appeared on a variety of shows, including "The Drew Carey Show," "The Nanny" and "Mad About You." He has also continued doing voice-over work for cartoons, including "Tom and Jerry," "The Little Mermaid" and "The Simpsons." In 1997, Lander changed careers and became a baseball scout for the Anaheim Angels.
