After I survived a 30-day coma at age 3, the doctors called it a miracle. My mother always told me she saw my guardian angel above my bed when I awoke from the coma, after my appendix busted and the doctors had given up hope. I was raised a strict Catholic and thanked God for saving me.

At age 27, after naively falling for a manipulative married man who was 19 years my senior and my boss, I learned by my mistake and vowed to keep my faith for the rest of my life, and to help my parents. I became "driven" to succeed, stay on the right road, and help my parents who never abandoned me. I entered law and became a "perfect" legal secretary working overtime to prove myself. Despite my efforts to do the right thing, I was fired 16 times. Today, I am in my 22nd law firm at age 58, and never left my parents who were sick and needed me. My mother died 8 years ago; I presently live with my father, age 83. I truly believe a guardian angel has helped me, and stayed by my side, all of these years, and enabled me to be strong to survive.

My story lies in the strength God has given me to stand up to administrators who hated me, and to those who mocked and talked about me merely because I was single, and pretty. The harder I worked, the more they hated me, as I was "driven."
