I would close the borders. I would adopt the standards Canada has: you must have a certain net worth, you must contribute to the country, there would be en extensive background check, etc. I would want a strong leader that could show extreme force when provoked (9-11). I would want a leader who investigated all sources to eliminate the depemdency on these foreign countries. Health care for self employed is important.
I believe that healthcare be available to all regardless of income. I also think that insurance companies should not have the right to deny medical treatment to those who need specific procedures/medications as designated by their own Doctors. I am also curious to find out why persons who never worked in this country are eligible for Social Security benefits while I worry whether or not I will be able to collect mine in the future. I also don't understand why some healthcare facilities charge so much to consumers and insurance companies. I believe as others do that our educational system is not paying it's teachers fair salaries. Why are police officers paid lower than most elected officials? I also don't understand why our children are no longer considered our most precious resource for the future. I don't understand why some can do nothing and achieve all while others give all and struggle to make ends meet.
I would make it against the law to pollute, find a way to get rid of our trash WITHOUT hurting the environment, I'd lower gas prices and make eco-friendly cars more affordable, I'd take the soliders out of Iraq, and send all of those drunk hobos in New York to Rehab.
I would stop using our tax dollars to rebuild other countries and concentrate only on our country. I would cut out all pork barrel spending such as tea museums and building brigdes to nowhere! I would personally assess every government agency to learn how efficient and effective it is and do away with duplication of services. I would mandate that all welfare recipients be on birth control and have no more children. I would do away with income tax and make certain that all who paid into social security get both their checks and their deceased spouses check. I would make veterans and education a priority! I would make certain that small businesses have an opportunity to bid on government projects.
If I were President I would make sure all young mothers and fathers have their high school diploma or there GED.. Many high school students are getting pregnant and quitting school. It may be hard but they can do it!! I did, I got pregnant at 16 and had my daughter at 17, I know how hard it is but young parents need a good education for their children..
If I were President I would put preyer & the Pledge of aleagent's back in our schools, and the one's that doesn't like it can move to a country were they don't belive in it.
I truly know one thing! We are all in trouble with either of our selection for President in this election.All I can say is GOD HELP US THROUGH THE NEXT FOUR YEARS.What has happened to our AMERICA? What we need is another President that is for America and the rest to take care of there own messes.I am afraid and I suggest you all get real and worry about what is coming.Gas prices alone are going to kill us,So I suggest we get off our butt's and use public transportation,bike, walk,share rides with 5 per car,Do something and it also will reoair the ozone so our children wont be in a BUBBLE.A THOUGHT A VERY GOOD THOUGHT If you truly care,Without these things mother earth will take care of all of us and you may take that to the bank it is FACTTTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!So with little effort on all our parts there is work to be done NOW.Get up and move your *****.
I hate to break it to you, but socialism doesn't work in reality and universal health care would destroy the quality of our health care/medicine in this country. Take a look at the other countries who have tried it. They are constently coming here, paying out of pocket for procedures because of how poor the quality of medical procedures are in their own countries. Sorry, I'm not willing to take mediocre care so everyone can have it.
