In just a single day, domestic violence programs served nearly 50,000 adults and children in the United States.* These programs provide a wide spectrum of residential and non-residential services such as emergency shelter and transitional housing, clothing, food, transportation, childcare and children's services, counseling and legal services critical to families trying to escape abusive homes and break the cycle of violence.
Today, these lifesaving programs are in jeopardy if Congress does not decide to fully fund the bipartisan Family Violence Prevention and Services Act (FVPSA).
You can help! Make your voice heard by signing this petition to urge Congress to support domestic violence victims and their children by fully funding the bipartisan Family Violence Prevention and Services Act at $175 million in the Fiscal Year 2009 Budget.
